moving space diorama, Vancouver

A piece of Vancouver public art designed by Jill Anholt called Moving Pictures had been vandalized and was starting to accumulate garbage. The artwork is situated on a busy and pedestrian-friendly downtown intersection. I contacted Jill and asked if she’d mind if I cleaned out the debris and add a temporary space-diorama inside the damaged section, in the interim before the City did the repairs. With Jill’s permission I made a couple of additions and then removed them two months later with no damage incurred.

Here are some before and after pics for my mini installation.

Since then, Jill's artwork has been fully restored to its original condition.
